Re/String的项目起始于2019年，源于渥太华首届21世纪吉他音乐会议。在会议上，加拿大吉他手Adam Cicchillitti和Steve Cowan首演了九部由纽约作曲家创作的两把吉他与电子音乐作品。继这一成功之后，二人将这一概念扩展至弦乐，委托加拿大作曲家Amy Brandon、Kelly-Marie Murphy、Patrick Roux、Bekah Simms、Hary Stafylakis以及英国作曲家Stephen Goss创作了六首协奏曲。这些作品于2022年3月由Thirteen Strings乐团在指挥Kevin Mallon的带领下在渥太华首演。
